Matt is a lifelong MN-CD2 resident. Raised in Lakeville, educated at UMN Morris and UMN Law, he has dedicated his career to public service. Elected to the Lakeville City Council in 2010 and Mayor at 27, he championed public safety, housing, and fiscal responsibility.

As State Senator for District 58, Matt authored over 60 bipartisan bills, fought to make insulin and prescriptions affordable, protected veteran services, and

expanded transit for seniors and people with disabilities. A disability rights attorney, Matt lives in New Market Township with his wife Coco, daughter Poppy, and their pets. He’s running for Congress to keep the American Dream within reach for every family in MN-CD2.
