Martha Brown was born in Erie, PA and raised in a working-class family where hard work meant survival and dignity. Her father worked five jobs while building a funeral business from the ground up. Her grandfather was a Pennsylvania coal miner who lost his job after attempting to unionize his fellow miners. Another grandfather farmed and worked for the telephone company to support his family. From them, Martha

learned that strong communities are built by working people — and that when those workers are ignored, families suffer. Martha Brown is running to strengthen the middle class, expand opportunity, support farmers and union workers, and restore hope in rural Minnesota.
